How do automatic assignment rules work?

Rules are useful when new products should receive a chart automatically as soon as they are added to your catalog.
To create a rule:

1. Open Size charts and edit the chart you want to assign.
2. Go to Where it shows → Rules.
3. Choose Product tag, Product type, or Vendor.
4. Enter one or more values, separating multiple values with commas.
5. Select Add rule.
6. Reorder your charts or rules if needed, because the first matching rule wins.

Important matching behavior:

• A direct product assignment always has priority over a rule.
• A collection assignment also has priority over a rule.
• Rule matching ignores capitalization and surrounding spaces.
• A rule can contain up to 50 unique values.
• Rules can be disabled without deleting them.

Use Simulator to select a product and see whether a rule matches it and whether a higher-priority assignment wins first.
